Parks HIT Observatory systems are supplied with two secondary mirrors, 180° apart, on a rotating turret. Detents lock either mirror into alignment for desired mode. This switch can be performed in just minutes, without the need for re-collimation.

All mirrors are ground, polished, and hand figured completely in-house for diffraction-limited results. The optics are mounted in a genuine Parks low thermal conductive fiberglass tube. The tube provides room around the mirror for air movement without disturbing the images. A large 8x50 right angle/straight-through finderscope is standard, as is a 2" rack and pinion focuser with 1.25" adapter. The primary mirror cell and secondary mirror holder are adjustable for alignment purposes. The rotating ring system allows convenient re-positioning of the eyepiece or camera, depending on the location of the target.
